“Few vines”, it is called, but the Barbera is made very much in the traditional way of the Barolo – extended maceration, extended aging and from old, wrought vines that produce the most intense fruit. Barbera’s softer tannins help the wine to show more adeptly in its youth than Accomasso’s Barolos, but age will undoubtedly aid these wines as well!
