2022 Keller, Riesling RR, Rheinhessen

The RR cuvée, short for “Riesling from Red soil,” originates from a tiny 0.8-acre plot of red soil surrounded by limestone soils and is crafted in a “feinherb” style. The 2022 vintage includes a blend of a few barrels from Absterde and Morstein that had remaining RS. This RR is characterized as an intense white wine with a deeper mineral expression, showcasing nuances of wet stones, tobacco, moist earth, and clay on the nose. As Klaus Peter Keller describes it, this wine is “for wine geeks only.”
