In Japan, Plum Wine is called Umeshu (wu-meh-shoo). Ume means Japanese Plum and Shu means Liquor. The Ume fruit has been one of the most revered fruit in oriental culture for centuries. Choya is a sweet dessert wine with a flavor reminiscent of maraschino cherries. Excellent to mix with other liquors to make cocktails such as sake-tini’s.
