Founded in 1987, the Cooley distillery was the only independent Irish distillery of its time for many years. Located in the County of Louth, Ireland, as magical of a place as it sounds, Cooley is now owned and operated by Beam Suntory but their tradition of well crafted Irish whiskey have been as treasured as the taste of said liquor. Cooley’s Connemara 12 year old peated single malt is no exception to this truth and provides tasters a uniquely ‘cool’ expression of whiskey. The nose builds on vibes of sugared barley with mists of peat smoke, kippers, and fresh out of the oven apple pie. A taste of divine gold honey is bathed in a more subtle drip of soot hazed smoke and peat earthed herbs along with bright hues of vanilla spice and aged oak.
