Domaine Michel Voarick Aloxe Corton 2022
Following a mild winter the budding and flowering of the vine started early without incident. Summer was hot with a few days of rain in mid August which allowed the thick skinned clusters to plump up. Harvest was early, August 29th for us. The crop was generous with healthy grapes.
Deep ruby color with aromas of red and blue fruits, a whiff of violet. The taste reflects its aromas with the presence of earth and spice. It finishes with refined tannins.
Sitting at the southern foot of the Corton hill, Aloxe-Corton is home the the Côte de Beaune’s only red grand cru: Corton.
Aloxe-Corton is a small village and commune at the northern end of the Côte de Beaune subregion of Burgundy’s Côte d’Or heartland. It is located on the plains below the Côte d’Or escarpment, just north of Beaune, in one of the most densely planted areas of the region. All but a tiny amount of production is of red wine from the Pinot Noir grape.
