Francois Chidaine Montlouis Clos du Breuil Chenin Blanc Sec 2023
Mineral nose with citrus and licorice notes which reveal a wild side. The mouth is balanced between a nice freshness and a fleshy fruitiness.
Francois Chidaine is a wine estate in the Loire Valley encompassing 37 hectares (91 acres) of vines in the appellations of Montlouis, Vouvray and Touraine. Chenin Blanc is the backbone of the estate, but its more recent acquisitions in Touraine and Bullas in Spain have significantly expanded its portfolio of grape varieties.
The combined 30ha (74 acres) of Chenin Blanc vines in Montlouis and Vouvray have been farmed organically since 1992 and biodynamically from 1999 onwards. The soil types vary from mixtures of flint and clay, to clay and limestone.
