Lionel Faury Cote Rotie Les 3 Brunes 2021
Vines planted on steep slopes (with a grade of up to 45%) facing south by south-east, from three parcels in Côte Brune (Fourvier, Le Plomb, and Arselié). 70 to 80% of grapes are de-stemmed, fermentation lasts 18 to 22 days, aged for 18 months in oak demi-muids (600-L) and barrels (220-L), of which 30% are new.
Critical Acclaim
95 Vinous
Saturated ruby. Highly perfumed aromas of cherry, blueberry, incense, exotic spices and vanilla, along with a bright, smoky mineral overtone that builds in the glass. Spice-accented red and blue fruit preserve flavors show very good depth and energy thanks to a core of juicy acidity. Finishes with building floral and spice notes, dusty tannins and resonating minerality.
91 Wine Spectator
A perfumed, mineral-driven, lithe style, with up-front red currant woven with smoked meat, lavender and iodine. A racy wine framed by sculpted tannins, with white pepper and juniper details. The finish is marked by tangy acidity and crushed stone. Drink now through 2032.
