Marcel Ragnaud Grande Champagne Premiere Cru Reserve Speciale Cognac [Mid-Shoulder]
Cognac Grande Champagne is the most prestigious of the six Cognac districts (crus). Grande Champagne is located just to the south of Cognac town, sandwiched between the Charente river and its tributary, the Né. The famous village of Segonzac, encircled by vines for miles in every direction, lies right at its heart.
Like the other five delimited cru zones in the Cognac region, a Grande Champagne base wine blend must contain at least 90 percent of Ugni Blanc (the most widely used) Colombard and Folle Blanche grapes. The eaux-de-vie have complex fruity, floral aromas and are famed for their balance of intensity and elegance.
