Mars Tsunuki Peated Single Malt Japanese Whisky

The Tsunuki Aging malts are a compelling project by Mars, operator of the Shinshu and Tsunuki distilleries. The distilleries sit in very different climates and the whisky expresses its location of aging beautifully. Shinshu is Japan’s highest distillery resting at 2,600 feet above sea level where Japan’s Southern Alps meet the Central Alps in Southern Nagano. This bottling was distilled at Shinshu and aged at Tsunuki—the new distillery built-in 2016 which sits at sea level in a very humid climate. The Peated bottling is the second release and was distilled between 2016 and 2017.
