This featured release of the 2021 Midleton Very Rare Vintage Irish Whiskey quantifies the special selection and methods used to produce this profoundly favored dram. As the first in the series to be crafted under the masterful eye of Kevin O’Gorman, the new Master Distiller of Midleton, this typically annual release has been adjusted to twice a year to meet demand. O’Gorman began the barrel selection process for this 2021 iteration in July 2020 with the mindset to find the best of both maturation and distillation. The 2021 Midleton Very Rare Vintage is the 38th offering in the series and is a blend of 15 to 36 year old single pot still and single-grain whiskies blended and finished in first and second-fill ex-bourbon barrels with light charring.
