Old Forester’s 150th Anniversary Batch Proof Bourbon is a limited edition release originally launched in October 2020 with three distinct iterations. Composed of a mash bill containing 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley, this NAS bourbon has a variable finished barrel strength of 125+ proof (namely; Batch 1: 125.6, Batch 2: 126.4, Batch 3: 126.8). The aim was to use premium-crafted bourbon derived from 150 hand-selected barrels made of wood seasoned for 150 days – however, 3 of the original barrels were completely lost to evaporation. The remaining 147 barrels were then divided into a tri-batched series in honor of George Garvin Brown’s original batching techniques.
