Rodde Coombsville Chardonnay 2016

Coombsville is an AVA at the southern end of Napa Valley, just outside the town of Napa itself. It is one of Napa’s cooler regions, although it is still best known for wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon.

Coombsville is Napa Valley’s southernmost AVA, save for Carneros, which lies a little way to the southwest, and Wild Horse Valley, which it borders on its eastern side. Coombsville was approved as an AVA in December 2011, and ranks among Napa Valley’s youngest official wine-growing sub-regions. The region sits at the base of Mount George, at the southern end of the Vaca mountain range. Here, it occupies a horseshoe-shaped valley, and covers the land that gently undulates from the base of the mountains to the Napa river.
