Sangiacomo Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir 2021
To honor the almost five decades-long relationship with the Sangiacomo Family, this limited bottling of Pinot Noir from their “El Novillero” vineyard which is located adjacent to our Estate and just a few miles from the cooling San Pablo Bay. Here, rocky soils give the wine a distinct minerality and concentration that complements the complex dark cherry and raspberry flavors and finishes with a long, juicy finish. The fruit was hand-picked at night and after de-stemming cold soaked for 3 days in small open top bins. Following a 12-day native fermentation, the wine was then transferred to 25% new and 75% 1-3 year old French Oak Barrels for Malolactic Fermentation and 14 months aging. The wine was then bottled unfined & unfiltered.
Critical Acclaim
93 Wine Enthusiast
Smooth, well balanced and just ripe enough, this full-bodied wine shows ample black cherry and blueberry flavors, throwing in black tea and rhubarb for complexity. Light tannins and a slightly tangy texture add to its appetizing expression.
