Terraviva Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOC 2022

Golden yellow color. The aromatic profile is characterized by fruity aromas and floral notes. On the palate it has a good body, with a broad, rich bouquet and lively acidity. The finish is of good persistence, with a slightly almondy touch.

Terraviva Winery born in Tortoreto within the DOCG Colline Teramane area, just a few kilometers from the Adriatic coast. It’s a family-owned winery that spans 22 hectares of vineyards and has deep roots in the region. Their mission is to bring out the best in the historically grown grapes of Abruzzo, with a strong focus on native varieties: Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo, Passerina, and Pecorino. The name “Terraviva” already explicitly conveys the company’s philosophy. Love for their land and respect for nature are the cornerstones of their work. That’s why they’ve decided to vinify each individual plot of land separately, preserving the uniqueness of each micro-terroir. Based on these foundational principles, Terraviva has embarked on an environmental conservation journey, both in the vineyards and the cellar, to create an eco-sustainable estate.

Recognizing the vineyard’s central role and the significance of grape quality in making great wines, they’ve embraced the principles of organic farming, completely rejecting any chemical substances and using only sulfur and copper to combat downy mildew and powdery mildew. Harvesting is done by hand to preserve the perfect integrity of the grape clusters. The winery is designed with the same principles in mind, employing a light winemaking approach that guides the grapes into wine with minimal intervention. Fermentations occur spontaneously and exclusively with native yeasts, and a photovoltaic system ensures energy self-sufficiency
