Unusually, this is one year younger than the more commonly seen 16YO – a very rare edition of a very rare Bourbon.The tale began in the spring of 1974 when batch of bourbon was ‘rescued’ from a small distillery near Scharfferstown, Pennsylvania, after the distillery ceased trading. Some was sold immediately, whilst the remainder was kept in Kentucky to continue aging.Fifteen years later, Adolph Hirsch, a former director of Schenley Distillers, discovered the batch.
