Buffalo Trace began experimenting with recipes and barrel treatments more than two decades ago. Currently, there are more than 30000 experimental barrels of whiskey aging in its warehouse, each with their own unique characteristics and experimental changes in the mash bill, type of wood, barrel toasts and more. Released in 2011, this limited edition bourbon is crafted from eight white oak barrels, filled in 1991 and aged for 19 years in Warehouse C, I and Q.
